How it All Started
At the Center for Recovery and Wellness Resources, we invite you to join us in celebrating the life and legacy of Dillon West, a true pioneer in peer recovery support services and addiction recovery. With over 30 years of sobriety, Dillon dedicated his life to helping others achieve and maintain their recovery. His groundbreaking work earned him national recognition, including the 2021 Lifetime Achievement Award from RecoveryPeople and many more accolades. Dillon founded our organization in Houston, TX, which continues to be a vital source of support for those on their recovery journey.
Hailing from Chicago, Dillon was a Certified Criminal Justice Professional (CCJP) and a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) with over 24 years of experience. He championed peer-to-peer recovery models, believing in the transformative power of shared experiences. Dillon’s impact was profound, from being one of the first graduates of the Texas Treatment Initiative Program to leading the Winners Circle Peer Network, which aids formerly incarcerated individuals. As a dedicated trainer and leader, he influenced countless lives through his roles in various organizations, including the Recovery Peer Support Workgroup of the Houston Recovery Initiative. Dillon’s legacy of compassion and commitment continues to inspire the recovery community.
Join us in honoring the legacy of Dillon West by contributing to our special campaign. Dillon dedicated his life to supporting those in recovery, and your donation will help us continue his mission. Your generous support will fund essential recovery support services at the Center for Recovery and Wellness Resources such as individual, family, and group coaching, access to different pathways of recovery, transportation, housing services, and social integration. Together, we can provide vital recovery support to the Houston community, ensuring that Dillon's vision of hope and healing endures. Thank you for your generousity.
“My restoration continues from daily awareness, confrontation that may become visible to daily assessment. I will continue make amends to people whenever possible. I utilize the tools of the therapeutic community and peer support network.”
